What I'm Reading

"These two visiting teachers were the gold and silver sun-splash in the great muddy river of school days ... If all the teachers had been like (these two), Francie would have known plain what heaven was. But it was just as well. There had to be the dark and muddy waters so that the sun could have something to background its flashing glory."
To all you teachers and moms (who are teaching all the time), be the sun. Leave the "muddy background" to someone or something else.

I'm really liking this book so far. You initially scared me when you said it wasn't an easy read.

I need a couple good book suggestions. Something not too deep, but not too chick lit either. What do you think?

I heard that's an excellent book. I'll add it to my must read list!

It would seem that he was husband of the year getting the tickets, however, I was at the doctor with the other two getting strep tests after having tested positive for strep myself the night before.
Have fun at Great Wolf! Here's my tips from one Dutch lady to another: Bring your own snacks. There's a mini fridge in your room. Unfortunately it isn't stocked as a mini bar. I don't recommend the restaurants in the hotel if you at all want to save money. There's quite a few right around there. We did Culver's, Big Boy and McDonald's. The waterpark was not nearly as busy after 7pm. Something to keep in mind when planning the day. And one last one....There are elevators at the end of the hallways which run about 10000x faster than the two central elevators and of course there are the stairs! Have fun!

Good pick for BC this month, however, after the first few pages I totally remember reading this before and recently. How does one forget reading a classic? Mommy-brain I guess..I'm enjoying it the 2nd time around tho.
